CKMA Chief Paokholen Guite Arrested in Churachandpur with Arms, Ammunition & Cash

Churachandpur, Oct 1, 2025:

Security Forces arrested the self-styled Commander-in-Chief of the Chin Kuki Mizo Army (CKMA), Paokholen Guite, a resident of P. Mongjang Village, Churachandpur district. He was apprehended at S. Munuam under Churachandpur Police Station.

Investigations revealed that the accused was actively involved in weapons and drug trafficking across the India–Myanmar border, supplying to non-Suspension of Operation (SoO) groups in Manipur such as UKNA. He was also engaged in extortion activities.

During the arrest, the following items were seized from his possession:

1. Two AK-47 rifles

2. Two AK-47 magazine

3. 31 rounds of 7.62 mm AK-47 ammunition

4. 150 rounds of 7.62 mm SLR/LMG ammunition

5. Cash amounting to ₹1,00,000 (one lakh)

6. One bullet-proof pouch

7. One Hyundai Creta four-wheeler (Reg. No. 24 BH 0676B)

8. Two mobile phones

The United Kuki Liberation Front (UKLF) vehemently condemns the arrogant act of Dharmendra Kumar, IPS Superintendent of Police Chandel and his team for raiding one of the resident of UKLF Officer at M. Gamnom Village, Sajik Area in Chandel District on (1st Oct 2025) last evening.

Conducting a raid against the Officers and cadres of the Organisation who signed the Tripartite Suspension of Operation Agreement is indeed a total violation of SoO ground rules.

Since, signing of SoO agreement, UKLF strictly abide by the ground rules and worked dedicatedly towards achieving a political solution for the Kuki-Zo people.

As such, UKLF viewed the recent unwanted act of SP Chandel and his team seriously and will not be remained a mute spectator if he continue to act arrogantly.

The Organisation humbly appealed the concerned authority to take up an exemplary action against the SP Chandel so that such incident does not recur in the near future.

Met with a few displaced Meitei Society, Churachandpur leaders who are currently living in various relief camps in and around Imphal. It was an emotional and deeply moving experience.

Despite the hardships, the bond remains strong, we come from the same land, share roots, and many of them speak Thadou, a language close to my heart.

Our collective hope is to one day return to our ancestral homes in Churachandpur.

We look forward to working together towards rebuilding and resettling in the place we've always called home.

Kuki People Movement:Awakening or Illusion? ~ George T Haokip

KUKI students have finally stepped forward, announcing meetings across different areas. But what is this movement really about—is it a call for awareness, a civil initiative, or a genuine fight for change? Are we challenging the government, our own authoritarian leaders, or the militants who control our community?

At present, the term "People's Movement" feels more like a performance, a seminar possibly pushed by someone for their own interests. True people's movements are driven by the people themselves, like the Civil Rights Movement in the USA or the Anti-Apartheid struggle in South Africa—movements where ordinary citizens rose to demand justice and real change. In contrast, performative or fake movements often give the illusion of popular support but serve hidden agendas, distracting from the real issues and consolidating the power of elites.

The core challenge for the Kuki community lies within our own ranks— the SOO groups, dictatorial chiefs, and anti-democratic cultural practices that hold us back. Genuine progress will come only when we confront these internal struggles and take ownership of our own destiny.

CDF-KKG Major Operation led by CNA was launched in Campani, Kyantha, Hmandaw and Aunhthayar were captured by the Military unit

Kyantha Sakhaan was attacked by Military Allied soldiers on September 20 Two CDF-KKG soldiers were killed in the battle.

"Kuki-Zo Self-Governance: The Only Safe Bet for IDPs Resettlement"

The Kuki-Zo people demand autonomy in managing the resettlement of internally displaced persons (IDPs). Any plan or policy that undermines our capacity to care for our own will be met with resolute opposition. The Government's proposal to close relief camps by December 2025 without meaningful engagement is unacceptable.

A viable resettlement plan must be conceptualized and executed by the Kuki-Zo, for the Kuki-Zo. We require full agency in determining resource allocation and utilization. We urge the Government to step back, provide necessary support and resources, and let us manage our own affairs without interference.

Our people's dignity and well-being are non-negotiable. The era of paternalistic governance is over. We are capable and willing to ensure the successful resettlement of all Kuki-Zo's IDPs. Leave us alone.

Furthermore, the Kuki-Zo emphasizes that a separate administration is a prerequisite for the safe and dignified return of IDPs. We cannot stress enough that without a distinct administrative framework, the resettlement process will be fraught with risks and uncertainties. It is imperative that the Government recognizes and addresses this fundamental demand before any IDPs are expected to return.

The establishment of a separate administration is not a matter of preference but a necessity for ensuring the protection and welfare of our people. We will not compromise on this demand. The Government must take concrete steps to grant the Kuki-Zo the autonomy and administrative framework necessary for our people's well-being.
