Rebuttal to Allegations of ZRA Collaboration with SAC

By:-
Youths Of Eastern Zogam

The Zomi Revolutionary Army  Eastern Command (ZRA EC) categorically denies all allegations of collaboration or political engagement with the State Administration Council (SAC). These claims are false and designed to discredit our struggle for the self-determination of the Zomi people.

KEY POINTS
No Agreement, No Collaboration with SAC*

The ZRA(EC) has never signed a ceasefire, entered political dialogue, or received support from the State Administration Council (SAC). We remain - and committed to resisting dictatorship. On the other hand the Chin National Front is a signatory of Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement. The Chin National Army (CNA), despite its historic role in resistance, has maintained a controversial relationship with the ruling junta State Administration Council (SAC). As part of the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement, the CNA, via the Chin National Front, continues to engage in talks with the SAC. However, its ongoing communication and limited resistance have led to criticism from local communities and other resistance groups, who see this as passive collaboration or political compromise. Chin National Day Events Were SAC-Controlled

The 75th, 76th, and 77th Chin National Day celebrations in Haka were solely organized by the SAC with military council officials in attendance,

77th Chin National Day (2025):

76th Chin National Day (2024):
A ceremony of the 2024 76th Anniversary, Chin National Day was held at Hakha military station's sport ground in the morning on 20th February and attended by SAC member Deputy Prime Minister Union Minister for Transport and Communications General Mya Tun Oo, SAC member Dr. Hmu Htan, Union Ministers, Chin State Chief Minister, Deputy Ministers and officials. 75th Chin National Day (2023):
The ceremony of the 75th Anniversary (Diamond Jubilee) Chin National Day was held at the Chin State government office in Haka in the morning on 20th February and State Administration Council Member Deputy Prime Minister, Union Minister for Defence General Mya Tun Oo spoke on the occasion. ZRA EC had no presence or role in these events.

Zomi Revolutionary Army Eastern Command's Mission Remains Clear. Their focus is protecting Zomi communities and advancing their political future. Attempts to associate ZRA(EC) with the State Administration Council(SAC) are deliberate disinformation intended to undermine ethnic resistance solidarity.

We urge the public and media to seek facts and question narratives that serve the Chinland Council's  interests.

CONDEMNATION
April 5, 2025

Zomi Mothers' Association (ZMA), General Headquarter is shocked to learn that another heinous act of rape was again committed against a minor girl on April 4, 2025 in the outskirt of Lamka town. This is a grim reminder that our society is no more safe for the most vulnerable section of the society. ZMA urges every section of our society to come forward and fight crime against women to make a 'rape-free society.' This is not only a rape against women but also a rape against our society.

ZMA condemns in the strongest terms the rape of a minor girl and demands that an exemplary and unprecedented punishment shall be awarded against the rapist (s). Another arrest and another judicial custody just to defuse mob's fury and reaction will no more be accepted. ZMA demands justice for the rape victim.

KUKI TRIBES & COLONIAL PERSPECTIVES

Composition of Kuki Tribes in Manipur and the British Government's Perspective

In Manipur, the "Kuki" umbrella term encompasses multiple tribes, and while the exact number can vary based on classification, it's generally understood that there are numerous major and subtribes that are recognized as part of the Kuki group.

Here's a more detailed Description of the said

Kuki Group:
The "Kuki" term is a broad categorization used by the British during colonial rule, encompassing various tribes with linguistic and cultural similarities.

*Kuki Sub-Tribes :*
In Manipur, the Kuki group is comprised of  subtribes, *including the Aimol, Chiru, Chothe, Gangte, Hmar, Kom, Maring, Paite, Simte, Vaiphei, Zou, etc.*

Historical Context:
The British had recognised the indigenous tribals living in the Chittagong Hill Tracts (Bangladesh), western Myanmar and North East India as Kukis as early as 1820s. Newly adopted names like Zo, Zomi and the likes have no land records,  history records or political rights but are considered illegal immigrants, refugees or foreigners.

Geographic Distribution:
Kuki tribes are primarily found in the hilly regions of Manipur, with Churachandpur being a major stronghold, and also in Chandel, Kangpokpi, Tengnoupal, and Senapati districts.

Other Ethnic Groups:
The Meiteis (who inhabit the Imphal Valley) and Naga tribes (also living in the hilly areas) are the other major ethnic groups in Manipur.

Representation:
Of the 60 seats in the Manipur Assembly, 40 are held by Meiteis, and the remaining 20 seats are held by Kukis and Nagas.

Vigilante Group Exposes CNA Misinformation in Tonzang Conflict

Amid the ongoing conflict in Tonzang, Tedim District, a vigilante group in the name of " Youth of Eastern Zogam,
Headquarters: Teddim" has stepped up to counter false narratives and defend the ZRA (Eastern Command) in various Social Media Platforms. With rising tensions between the CNA and ZRA, the Paite tribe has been unfairly targeted, accused of monopolizing the "Zomi" identity—a claim the group strongly denies. They stress that "Zomi" is a collective term for all Zo people across India, Myanmar, and Bangladesh. They just don't know how many Tribes are within ZOMI because they are in Myanmar, a country where there is no recognition of Tribals.

Recently, the group caught CNA-affiliated Facebook page "The Chinland Information" sharing an image of weapons allegedly seized from ZRA (EC). However, evidence from Burmese media and older Facebook posts revealed the photo was from January 2025, not a recent capture and not relating to the current Tonzang conflict. The post has since been deleted—but not before the group archived it as proof of manipulation. The timeline shows the post stays until 6PM IST &  approximately 7 PM on Burmese time.
The vigilante group vows to continue exposing false claims and propaganda by the CNA, stating that just because ZRA EC doesn't use media, it doesn't mean they are silent or weak.

LIANGMAI: JOINT PRESS CONFERENCE

5th April 2025: Liangmai Naga Council,  Eastern Zone - Eastern Liangmai Chief Chairman Association -Liangmai Naga Katimai Ruangdi, Eastern Zone.  Koubru Range Liangmai Women's Union

A dark chapter unfolded today as Indigenous Konsakhul Naga Village faced an unprovoked and brutal attack by armed militants allegedly mobilized more than 1000 assailants by the chiefs of L. Phaijang, L. Munlai, and Haroathel, Kangpokpi District, Manipur. Amidst the ongoing Kuki-Meitei conflict, this act of aggression aims to draw indigenous Naga communities into further turmoil.

It has been reported that, approximately 12:00 noon, heavily armed militants, disguised as civilians, launched a premeditated attack on Konsakhul Village, targeting villagers engaged in their daily activities. The assault resulted in severe injuries and widespread destruction. Meanwhile, the Hon'ble Governor of Manipur, A.K. Bhala, was attending an event at NSU.

The assault, seemingly an assassination attempt on village leaders, left several critically wounded, including Aimson Abonmai, Chief of Konsakhul
&  Adam Dirinamai, Village Chairman is undergoing treatment at RIMS, Imphal and Wilingson Abonmai, Pastor, Konsaram Baptist Church were also brutally assaulted and Ch. Paramchamdin,  A.B. Widinbou, Th. Aloipu were physically attacked all together around ten other villagers suffered grievous injuries.

The four chartered demands made by the landowners of Konsakhul Village Authority must be addressed and brought to justice before 12:00 Noon date 6th April 2025. Failure to do so will result in the launching an indefinite total shutdown in Liangmai inhabited areas of Manipur.

The concerned authorities must take immediate and necessary action to ensure justice is served. Furthermore, the so called chiefs of L. Phaijang, L. Munlai, and Haroathel villages of Kangpokpi District will be held accountable for any untoward incidents that may arise due to their actions. The onus of maintaining peace and order lies with them, The indigenous Liangmai Naga people stands united in its demand for justice and will not hesitate to take necessary steps to protect its land and it's rights.

We call upon the indigenous communities, civil society organizations, and right-thinking citizens of Manipur to unite and take a firm stand against this atrocity. The time has come for us to stand together as one, condemn this injustice, and show our unwavering solidarity.

MYANMAR EARTHQUAKE DEATH TOLL UP

The death toll from a major earthquake in Myanmar has risen above 4,200, Democratic Voice of Burma (DVB) media said Saturday, as the United Nations aid chief made a renewed call for the world to help the disaster-struck nation.

The March 28 quake flattened buildings and destroyed infrastructure across the country, resulting in 4,210 deaths and 6,506 people injured, with 448 people missing, according to new figures published by one of Myanmar's largest independent media organisations DVB News.

More than one week after the disaster, many people in the country are still without shelter, either forced to sleep outdoors because their homes were destroyed or wary of further collapses.

A United Nations estimate suggests that more than three million people may have been affected by the 7.7-magnitude quake, compounding previous challenges caused by four years of civil war.

The UN's top aid official on Saturday met with victims in the central Myanmar city of Mandalay -- situated close to the epicentre and now grappling with severe damage across the city.

"The destruction is staggering," Tom Fletcher wrote in a post on X.

"The world must rally behind the people of Myanmar".

The junta has reportedly conducted dozens of attacks since the earthquake, including at least 16 since a temporary truce was announced on Wednesday, the UN said on Friday.

China, Russia and India were among the first countries to provide support, sending rescue teams to Myanmar to help locate survivors.

The United States has traditionally been at the forefront of international disaster relief, but President Donald Trump has dismantled the country's humanitarian aid agency.

Washington on Friday said that it was adding $7 million on top of an earlier $2 million in assistance to Myanmar.

The much-anticipated meeting between Kuki and Meitei community leaders, convened by the Union Home Ministry in New Delhi on Saturday (April 5), failed to break the ice, with the Kuki Zo Council refusing to sign a six-point resolution.

This was the first face-to-face huddle between leaders of the two communities since the outbreak of ethnic violence in the state in May 2023.

The meeting assumed significance as it came close on the heels of Union Home Minister Amit Shah's recent assertion in the Parliament that the Centre was working out an amicable solution to the conflict."

"Draft resolution
According to the draft resolution prepared by the Home Ministry, leaders of both the communities were supposed to appeal to members of their own communities to refrain from violence targeting the other community.

They were also to urge the administration to take strong action against perpetrators of violence and "welcome any initiative by the government to facilitate return of internally displaced people to their respective places subject to logistics and arrangements made by the government", sources privy to it told The Federal.

"Agreed that all long-term and contentious issues will be taken up with the Government of India for resolution through dialogue and consultation with the communities," read another clause of the draft resolution."

"Kukis unhappy with outcome
"We did not agree to any point, as we were not happy with the outcome of the meeting," Kuki-Zo Council chairman Henlianthang said after the meeting.

The meeting was chaired by the Home Ministry's North East adviser AK Mishra.

Four other officials from MHA, including one joint director from IB, Manipur chief secretary, and the additional director general of Manipur Police were also present.

A six-member delegation from two influential Meitei civil bodies, the All-Manipur United Clubs' Organisation (AMUCO) and the Federation of Civil Society Organisations (FOCS), and eight representatives of the Kuki-Zo Council (KZC) attended the meeting that continued for about four hours."

"Meiteis give consent
The Meitei organisations, however, gave their consent to the six points mentioned in the draft resolution, circulated to representatives of the two communities after the meeting.

"We gave our consent to the resolution," said Nando Luwang, a representative from the AMUCO.

The Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI), the most powerful Meitei civil society conglomerate, did not participate in the meeting, calling it a stage-managed spectacle."

ZO WOMEN'S MOVEMENT: CONDEMNATION | RAPE CASE

Date: 4 April 2025
Zo Women express our unequivocal condemnation of the repeated and brutal violence that continues to plague our community. Our hearts are broken, and our collective conscience is deeply disturbed by the recent report of alleged repeated rape of a minor girl child— a crime that has once again violated the innocence of one of our most vulnerable members.

We refuse to accept this as just another tragic headline. We refuse to let this become another forgotten name in the long list of victims. Every brutal assault is a stark reminder that the violence we are facing is not an isolated incident but a systemic epidemic that continues to spread, poisoning our homes, our streets, and our communities. It is a sickness that we can no longer tolerate. The last victim has not even seen justice, and already another child has been brutalised. This pattern cannot continue.

We do not want apologies or empty promises. We demand that the perpetrators of these heinous acts face the full weight of the law, and we demand that the victims be given the protection and justice they deserve. We demand the identification, exposure, and removal of all those who prey on our children and violate our women. We demand real protection for our children, not hollow speeches, not temporary outrage, but a permanent and systemic change to protect the most vulnerable among us.

To the churches, schools, and institutions that shape our community, we demand your action. We demand that you speak out. We demand that you condemn this violence. We need your voice in every home, in every classroom, in every sermon, to ensure this is never allowed to continue. There is no honour in silence, only in the protection of our children.

We refuse to be silent, and we refuse to wait any longer. This is a call for action. We will fight for our children, our women, and for the future of Lamka. Together, we will demand justice. We will not rest until it is served.
