 NAGA COMMUNITY DELHI
Bids Adieu to our Legend
Late S. S. Khaplang Chairman NSCN (K)

SS Khaplang dedicates his final will to the young Naga generation

"... of my people with their own sovereign and independent state based on our distinct history, tradition, and culture. I also wish that the sacrifices of our people for our political rights will not go in vain. I do hope that the leaders of different groups will not fail to understand the feelings and yearnings of the Naga people for unity. I also urge them to listen to the voice of the people and unite in the interest of the Naga people and not for their selfish ends or party interest. Let us also remember that unity is strength and disunity is our downfall. Therefore, I urge all the Naga political groups to leave aside all their differences and unite and give peace a chance in our land. Only then will the future of the Nagas be bright, peaceful, and progressive. I also urge all the Naga people to pray for unity among us."

EOC Concludes Three-Day DELHI PA CAMP with Powerful Message of Faith

NEW DELHI, Nov 1, 2017: The Evangelical Organization Church (EOC) Delhi successfully concluded its three-day Delhi PA Camp 2017 on the evening of September 30 at Bethesda Social Service Center, Jangpuri, hosted by the Independent Church of India. The camp, themed “My grace is sufficient for you” (2 Corinthians 12:9), focused on strengthening Christian family leadership, particularly among fathers (PA meaning "Father") living in the National Capital Region (NCR).

Held from September 28 to 30, the camp brought together 40 participants from various churches and denominations across Delhi and NCR. The event was aimed at nurturing spiritually grounded family heads who can lead their households in alignment with Christian values.

Two renowned theologians, Rev. Dr. Kh Khaizakham and Rev. RC Varte, served as the main speaker and resource person, respectively. Rev. Dr. Khaizakham, an accomplished evangelist and author of over 20 books, shared profound insights on Christian principles, urging participants to live a life rooted in righteousness and spiritual discipline. Despite having served as an evangelist for over 43 years and now aged 69, he expressed his desire to continue spreading the Gospel worldwide.

Rev. RC Varte, who began his ministry in 1976 following the death of his mother, provided inspiring reflections on personal loss, faith, and perseverance. Born in Haflong, Assam, Rev. Varte shared the story of his father's pastoral service in Khampat’s Kanan Veng between 1953 and 1956 — a place named by his father based on the biblical “Canaan.” Rev. Varte, now Superintendent of the Independent Church of India (ICI), New Delhi, also spoke emotionally about the early challenges of Christianity in remote regions.

The camp featured a structured program including Bible study, morning and evening sessions, group discussions, Q&A hours, and prayer meetings. Campers were divided into four groups—Moses, Abraham, Jacob, and Joshua—with the Moses group winning the Best Discipline award.

Throughout the camp, Rev. Dr. Khaizakham emphasized the importance of recognizing one’s spiritual “boundary line,” cautioning that stepping beyond can lead to hardship. In his farewell message, he encouraged the campers with the verse Joshua 24:15, while Rev. Varte challenged attendees to reflect on their spiritual beginnings by asking, “Where did we receive New Life?”

The camp was efficiently organized under the leadership of Camp Director and EOC Delhi pastor ST Robert. Local secretary Mr. Ginlalchung expressed heartfelt gratitude for the event’s success. Mr. Sonpi delivered the vote of thanks, and Mr. KC Lalboi presented the financial report. Mementos were also presented to both the speaker and resource person as tokens of appreciation.

The camp, though brief, left a lasting spiritual impact, equipping fathers with tools to become Christ-centered leaders in their homes.

NE Youths Racially Abused, Attacked at Sujangarh Railway Station

Sujangarh, Rajasthan | Oct 7, 2025: Two youths from Northeast India—a man and a woman—faced racial abuse and physical assault at Sujangarh Railway Station in Rajasthan while waiting for a Delhi-bound train.

According to the victims, the incident began when they refused food offered at a nearby eatery. A local man allegedly reacted aggressively, asking, "Why can’t you eat Rajasthani food?" The situation escalated when the male victim, identified as Mr. Leng, was pulled aside and strangled with a scarf by the same local individual.

The victims, both working at a school in the area, were left helpless after the attack. They attempted to contact the Northeast Helpline at 1093, but the line was unreachable, adding to their distress.

They are currently at Sujangarh Railway Station, awaiting their train to Delhi. Immediate intervention from authorities has been urged to ensure their safety and address the incident.

Joint Representation to PM by Hmar Inpui & Zomi Council Supporting Tripartite Talks

A JOINT REPRESENTATION SUBMITTED TO THE HON’BLE PRIME MINISTER OF INDIA THROUGH THE DEPUTY COMMISSIONER, CHURACHANDPUR BY HMAR INPUI AND ZOMI COUNCIL ON 8 AUGUST, 2017 IN SUPPORT OF THE ON-GOING TRIPARTITE TALKS

Hon’ble Sir,

At the outset, the Hmar Inpui and Zomi Council and all its constituent civil society organisations (CSOs) would like to express our sincere gratitude to the NDA Government under your able leadership for your sincere efforts to bring a permanent political solution in Manipur.

It is encouraging to know that the Government of India, the Government of Manipur and the Suspension of Operation (SoO) groups in Manipur – namely, the United People’s Front (UPF) and Kuki National Organisation (KNO) will be sitting for the third round of tripartite talks on 9th August, 2017 in New Delhi. It is also immensely satisfying to note that the Union Government has appointed Shri Dineshwar Sharma, former Director of Intelligence Bureau (IB), as an interlocutor for SoO groups.

In this regard, may we draw your kind attention to the following points:

1. Need for Immediate Political Solution:
That, immediate political solution is the need of the hour in Manipur to end decades of violence and conflict. The tribal have been subjugated and assimilated; our land, basic rights and even our very existences under the sun have been threatened now. Such pathetic conditions resulted in mushrooming of tribal armed groups in the past. However, most of them have decided to shun the path of violence and signed SoO with the Government to create a conducive atmosphere for peaceful political dialogue.

2. Promise of 6th Schedule Provisions:
That, having understood our plights and acknowledging the need for a permanent political solution, the Hon’ble Union Home Minister Shri Rajnath Singhji promised to extend 6th Schedule provisions of the Constitution to tribal areas of Manipur within six (6) months during his election campaign at Ngathal Ground, Churachandpur, Manipur, in the month of February 2017, if the BJP is voted to power in the state.

3. Chief Minister’s Commitment:
Furthermore, the Hon’ble Chief Minister, Shri Biren Singh, in his ‘personal political mission’ stated thus, “to bring the issue of militant groups under SoO, irrespective of their background, to its logical conclusion within a given time frame” and “invite all UGs in the state for political dialogue to bring a permanent political solution.”

We firmly believe that the time has come to fulfil these promises and turn words into action.

The Hmar Inpui and Zomi Council would also like to reiterate that we fully support the on-going peaceful political dialogue and pray that it leads to an honourable, acceptable, durable and practical political solution for the tribal in the state of Manipur.

On behalf of the people and the tribes we represent, we plead your honour to kindly take up all possible steps for immediate political solution and pave the way for an era of peace and development.

Thanking you in anticipation.

Yours sincerely,

Too Much to Bear: Manipur Youth Critical at SJH Delhi

NEW DELHI, MAR 14, 2017:  A young man, just 25 years old, came all the way from Manipur to Delhi—full of hope and dreams—to find a job. But instead of employment, he found himself in a hospital bed at Safdarjung Hospital, fighting for his life.

He is now in critical condition. Doctors have discovered a hole in his heart, a condition he's unknowingly carried since birth. The only way to save his life? An immediate heart surgery. But here’s the devastating part—the cost is between Rs. 5 to Rs. 10 lakhs.

"Be ready with at least Rs. 5 lakhs," one of the doctors told us.

We were shattered. How can a poor young man, who came looking for a livelihood, now be asked to cough up such an astronomical amount just to stay alive?

A nurse from the Northeast working at a private hospital whispered to us that some private hospitals charge Rs. 7 to Rs. 8 lakhs for similar surgeries. We used to believe government hospitals like SJH would be more affordable. But clearly—not always.

It left us questioning everything.
Is this corruption, or just the harsh reality of our broken healthcare system?
Are life-saving surgeries really priced on a whim?
Is hope only for the rich?

He still lies there, clinging to life.
All we can do now is pray... and act.

GOOD SAMARITANS RISE

In this darkest hour, hope came in the form of selfless hearts.
The patient’s family sends heartfelt thanks and blessings to the Good Samaritans:

Mr. Biakmuang Guite, General Secretary of Siamsinpawlpi (SSPP) JHQ Delhi, and
Mr. Thangkhanmuan, a BPO employee

…both of whom rushed straight from their night shift to the hospital to donate blood.

A big salute also to the Kuki Students’ Organisation, Delhi (KSOD) led by:
Mr. Thangrijoy Baite, President
Mr. Seilenmang Haokip, General Secretary
Mr. Sasat & Mr. Lien Mate, Information Secretaries

They all gathered at Safdarjung Hospital on the evening of March 11, 2017 (Saturday)—from all across Delhi—to do one thing: help a brother in need.

In moments like these, we are reminded of who we truly are—not just people from the Northeast, not just Delhi residents, but humans with a heart.

Let us continue to stand by each other,
to give hope,
to save lives.

In service of our Northeast brothers and sisters.

Shri Robin Hibu, IPS

Nodal Officer for North East,

Jt. Commissioner of Police

New Delhi

SUBJECT:- SAFETY AND SECURITY CONCERNS FOR THE NORTHEAST PEOPLE DURING HOLI FESTIVALS.

Respected Sir,

Now-a-days many complaints of feeling of UNSAFE and INSECURE has been received by THE NORTH EAST SUPPORT CENTRE & HELPLINE from many Northeast community living in the National Capital Regions, especially women who are working in private companies that they have been targeted in different ways --- ‘abused’‘discriminated’ and faced ‘derogatory remarks’ during the happiest moments of Holi festivals last year. In the current year such bad treatments can be experienced so therefore there should be ‘security vigils’ in the places where the populace of the North East people is high. This security measures must be taken up at the earliest in order to avoid unnecessary outcomes.

According to the latest complaints received from women from North-Eastern States in Delhi and its NCR Regions, told the NESCH [NE HELPLINE] that they were allegedly mistreated by the locals during Holi festivals. Mostly women from NE regions were targeted by the Holi revelers. Many of the NE women complained that they have been facing many ill treatments during Holi festivals. The locals use to throw/pour dirty water from the balcony of their houses. Some locals throwing coloured-water and firecrackers to NE women inappropriately. In truest experiment, last year a young Manipuri girl dressed neat and tidy coming out for office job, on the way she was splashed with dirty water by a group of men. Though she requested them politely that she is going for office duty. However the group turndown her fervent requests instead they rubbed her face with different colours (rang) and many of the colours fallen on her clean and pant. So she helplessly fallen and cry for help.  The men fled from the scene. Another incident was when two couple from Nagaland coming out from AIIMS hospital after getting medical treatment were badly treated by coloured-water balloons. Their medical papers of doctor’s prescription were almost spoiled by the water. Another young Mizo girl in Munirka, who went for buying some food items, was allegedly grabbed behind by 4-6 young boys in the name of Holi. Indeed they are shouing, “Happy Holi….. Happi Holi…… Holi… Holi … Holi Hai!”

NESCH have been maintaining records of such incidents for the past many years.

Ofcourse everybody knows Holi is a time of Joy and Happiness. If so, let us all try to celebrate Holi in a meaningful way and may it bring Peace and Harmony among the Indians.

Not only focusing the safety and security of the NE women, we also concern for the male-folks who can also be under such attacks.  Therefore there is an urgent need of police presence and intervention to prevent such offence in day or night.

Therefore Sir, with much faith and confident on you, we would like to requests you to tight-up security vigils in the pockets of the localities where maximum number of North East people resides.

Thanking You, Sir

In the SERVICE of Our BROTHERS and SISTERS of NORTHEAST India.

Yours Sincerely,

BRUCE K. THANGKHAL

"Muanna Rose" is a semi-true love story about a young couple deeply in love. The heroine and the hero were a perfect match — she was beautiful, and he was handsome. However, the heroine’s parents strongly disapproved of her lover and firmly opposed their relationship. This led to tensions, anger, frustration, and even physical clashes between the hero and those who tried to stop him. In the end, love wins — the hero overcomes all obstacles. And yes, there’s still much more to the story…
