Zogam Today Celebrates 13th Anniversary; Supporter Group Formed

Zogam Today celebrated its 13th anniversary on 30 October 2025 at 8:30 PM in the ZSP Library Hall, Zogal Hall, Zoveng, Lamka.

Editor, Zogam Today

Mr. Chinlunthang, MLA of 60-Singngat (ST) Assembly Constituency, said the media is “the fourth pillar of our society and nation” but added that “running a daily newspaper is not an easy job.” He shared that he understood the hardships faced by Zogam Today Editor, Mr. Nengkhanlun @ Lun Samte, and had even advised him to discontinue at times.

He went on to say, “Zogam Today is a private publication. Though some may not read or subscribe, it sends a strong message that there is a Zou vernacular newspaper which promotes and develops our society and nation. It stands as an important fourth pillar of democracy.”

Appreciating the editor and staff for their 13 years of commitment, he wished Zogam Today continued success, hoping it would one day celebrate its 25th anniversary (Silver Jubilee). He also proposed forming a Supporter Group made up of well-wishers to help sustain the newspaper.

Mr. Thangzamang, President of the United Zou Organisation (UZO GHQ), thanked the editor and his team for publishing in the Zou dialect, which, he said, “has given a lot of information to the people.” He added, “Media is shaping the world in a better and good way. The UZO GHQ has been able to function properly till today because of Zogam Today — it is one of the reasons behind our success.”

Ms. Manuamching, IAS, Deputy Commissioner of Pherzawl and Advisor of Zogam Today, said, “For progress, there is nothing easy in this world. The one who dares to face it; one dares to follow, follows it.” She encouraged the promotion of Zou literature and noted that “we have Zou MIL Class IX to XII textbooks, and Zogam Today can help improve the usage of the Zou dialect by following the Zou literature.”

She praised the editor for overcoming many challenges to provide the Zou community with a media platform, saying his efforts were “very much appreciated.” She urged the team to “strive their best to preserve Zou literature.”

Mr. Michael Ginzasuan, Advisor of Zogam Today, also appreciated the editorial staff’s efforts. He said, “We must think about how to sustain this paper.” He pointed out that while many small and medium print newspapers are disappearing due to social media, Zogam Today has survived because of its loyal subscribers and supporters.

He further shared that although the editor is still young, “he has been interested in journalism for over 25 years now.” He also narrated the newspaper’s journey: “Zogam Today started as weekly and monthly magazines named Zopatong and Zogam Thusuo before becoming a daily newspaper on 30 October 2012.”

On the 13th anniversary, Rev. Dr. S.K. Manlun and family, Mr. S. Dalthang, Mr. Thangsuankhup, Treasurer of UZO GHQ, Dr. Lincoln Zou, PRO to MLA/Singngat, and Elder M. John Zou, Secretary (External) of UZO GHQ, provided financial assistance as a token of support.

Leaders from UZO GHQ, Zou Youth Organisation (ZYO GHQ), Zou Sangnaupang Pawl (ZSP GHQ), and several well-wishers attended the celebration. A thanksgiving dinner followed, which was blessed by Rev. Dr. S.K. Manlun with a humble prayer. The editor thanked God for the continuous blessings and expressed gratitude to all who attended and supported Zogam Today.

It was also announced that a Supporter Group for Zogam Today has been officially created to sustain the newspaper in the long run. Under this plan, anyone can subscribe to Zogam Today monthly, annually, for five years, ten years, or more.

As part of this initiative, Ms. Muanching, wife of Manglamthang Samte from D. Phailian (Moreh), made a generous contribution of ₹20,000 in support of Zogam Today.

Those who wish to contribute or subscribe can contact the editor at 9612942453 or via email at zogamtoday@gmail.com.

Looking ahead, the Zogam Today team expressed their faith in the Lord, saying, “We look forward to another 12 years with faith in our Lord and Saviour, who does everything for us. We trust in Him.”

May God continue to bless the Zogam Today editor and staff, advisors, supporters, and well-wishers.

Peace Cannot Grow on Blame and False Brotherhood

The recent vandalism of the civic reception banner for Ato Kilonser Th. Muivah in Daili village, Senapati, is unfortunate and disrespectful. However, blaming the Kukis without any evidence is both unfair and dangerous. The Kukis have never shown such intent or behaviour towards the Nagas or any community in Manipur. Such baseless accusations only add more division at a time when unity is most needed.

In this ongoing crisis, it is deeply disappointing to see that many among the Nagas, who are also tribal and Christian fellows, have chosen to remain silent spectators. Worse still, some have openly sided with the Meiteis—calling them brothers and strengthening ties that have further isolated the Kukis. Together, they have claimed to be the "indigenous people" of Manipur, leaving the Kukis out of the narrative entirely.

But history speaks differently. The Kukis have their own proud but often untold stories — especially the Kuki INA fighters who fought bravely for India's freedom, whose names are listed in the INA Complex at Moirang, standing as lasting proof of the Kukis' courage and loyalty to the nation's struggle for independence. Their contribution remains a shining reminder that the Kukis have long stood for unity, freedom, and dignity.

True peace and harmony can only exist when every community's identity is acknowledged and respected. Fabricated ties and false claims will only deepen the wounds and hatred that already divide us. Let truth, respect, and justice guide our way — not blame and bias.

Trump Calls to Protect Persecuted Christians Worldwide — Urged to Include Manipur, India

Donald J. Trump
@realDonaldTrump

Christianity is facing an existential threat in Nigeria. Thousands of Christians are being killed. Radical Islamists are responsible for this mass slaughter. I am hereby making Nigeria a “COUNTRY OF PARTICULAR CONCERN” — But that is the least of it. When Christians, or any such group, is slaughtered like is happening in Nigeria (3,100 versus 4,476 Worldwide), something must be done! I am asking Congressman Riley Moore, together with Chairman Tom Cole and the House Appropriations Committee, to immediately look into this matter, and report back to me. The United States cannot stand by while such atrocities are happening in Nigeria, and numerous other Countries. We stand ready, willing, and able to save our Great Christian population around the World!

DONALD J. TRUMP,
PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA
Oct 31, 2025, 7:09 PM
*******

A strong and timely statement by President Donald J. Trump! The persecution of Christians around the world truly deserves global attention and action. Nigeria’s suffering is heartbreaking — but the crisis extends far beyond.

In India, we have also witnessed tragic cases of Christian persecution — the brutal killing of missionary Graham Staines and his two sons, the murder of Catholic fathers in Manipur by Meitei underground outfits, and the destruction of more than 300 churches since the Manipur violence began in May 2023.

Mr. Trump’s call to defend persecuted Christians worldwide should also include the Manipur conflict, where believers continue to face severe attacks and displacement.

May global leaders unite to protect the freedom of faith, justice, and humanity. ✝️🙏

WARNING TO CNA GROUP

The terrorist group CNA, composed of the Hakha ethnic people, along with its subordinate terrorist group CDF-Tonzang supporters' media, and those Chin media platforms and social media users who spread false news under the name of "Chin" to defame the Zomi people, are hereby warned not to continue such deceptive activities.

Some media outlets have written on social media platforms that the ZRA is receiving support from the Myanmar military. This is fake news. We urge the Zomi people and the people of Myanmar not to believe such false information.

This is nothing but the handiwork of the terrorist CNA. Since the terrorist CNA and its group cannot win in battles and are in need of money and public support, they have resorted to spreading misinformation.

These terrorist CNAs do not even dare to fight in their own towns; instead, they attack the areas inhabited by the Zomi people.

There are soldiers stationed in Hakha, and the SAC (junta) is increasing its troops every day. So why haven't there been any battles in Hakha? Think about it, it's because these terrorist CNAs want to destroy their own townships and burn them down.

They are taking advantage of the revolution for their own selfish gain and personal benefit.

KLA-L Responds to NSCN-IM Statement, Reaffirms Claim to Ancestral Lands

The Kuki community has issued a strong response to a recent statement by Lieutenant General VS Atem, Dy. Ato Kilonser, NSCN-IM, rejecting the notion that their demand for a separate administration is limited to Churachandpur. In a press communique dated November 2, 2025, the Kuki people assert that their demand is rooted in territorial integrity and self-determination, citing the arbitrary amalgamation of their ancestral lands with Manipur without consent.

The communique emphasizes that any discussion on the proposed Greater Nagalim must be contingent upon mutual recognition of Kuki ancestral claims. Archival records confirm Kangpokpi (Sadar Hills) and Tengnoupal (Chandel) as ancestral Kuki territories. The community condemns the NSCN-IM's 1992-93 ethnic cleansing campaign and calls for acknowledgement of historical injustices and a just resolution.

"We will not relinquish our claim to our ancestral lands, and we will assert our rights through all available means," states the communique, signed by Jalaimang Kuki, Secretary, Information & Publicity.
