Delhi shocker: Manipur woman found dead in Mahipalpur bathroom

The body of a 23-year-old woman from Manipur was found in her rented room in the Mahipalpur area of Delhi. Police suspect that she died due to electrocution while using an electric rod heater in the bathroom.

According to the Delhi Police, the woman, who worked at a software company in Gurugram, was reportedly getting ready to attend a party when the incident occurred on Sunday. She had been living in a rented room on the fourth floor of a building in Mahipalpur for the past few months.

A PCR call was received at 8.19 p.m. on Sunday at Vasant Kunj (South) Police Station regarding a woman found dead inside a locked room in Mahipalpur. Upon receiving the call, the investigating officer, along with the police team, reached the spot and found the woman lying unresponsive in the bathroom, holding an electric rod in her hand.

Initial inquiry revealed that the woman had gone to the bathroom to take a bath and was using an electric rod to heat water. When she did not come out for a long time, her friend who lives in the same building became concerned and went to check on her. Finding the bathroom door bolted from the inside, she immediately made a call for assistance.

The crime team was called to the scene, and the site was inspected. The body was then shifted to Safdarjung Hospital mortuary for post-mortem examination.

From the prima facie enquiry, it appears to be a case of electrocution, and no foul play has come to notice so far.

Shahil, the caretaker of the building, told IANS, "The incident happened in room number 403. I received a call from the victim's friend saying that she was not opening the door and asked for a duplicate key. The owner was not present, so I was instructed to make another key. When we finally opened the door, we found her lying in the bathroom with the electric rod still in her hand. She had come here in June and was from Manipur. She was working in Gurugram."

Red Fort blast: 9 dead, 20 hurt; Dr Umar held, UK issues travel advisory

Nine people are dead and 20 others injured after a powerful blast ripped through a Hyundai i20 car near Delhi’s Red Fort Metro Station around 6:52 pm on Monday (Nov 10), officials said. The explosion left mangled bodies and damaged vehicles scattered across the busy area.

Preliminary investigation suggests the suspects may have panicked and accidentally detonated the explosives, according to top intelligence sources. The blast occurred just hours after Jammu and Kashmir Police recovered nearly 3,000 kg of explosives from two residential buildings in Faridabad, Haryana.

The first image of Dr Mohammad Umar, a doctor at Al Falah Medical College in Faridabad and the suspected mastermind of the Red Fort blast, has now surfaced. Umar, part of the Faridabad terror module, owned the car used in the explosion. Sources said he panicked and triggered the blast after the arrest of two key module members — Dr Mujammil Shakeel and Dr Adil Rather — and the seizure of explosives. Ammonium nitrate, recovered from Faridabad, was reportedly used in the blast.

As the investigation widens, three more doctors from Faridabad’s Al Falah University have been taken into custody for questioning. Umar is said to be a close associate of Adeel Ahmad Rather, a former senior resident doctor at Government Medical College (GMC), Anantnag, who was arrested last week. Acting on Rather’s inputs, authorities conducted a raid in Faridabad on Monday, leading to Umar’s identification.

In response to the tragedy, Delhi Chief Minister Rekhia Gupta announced financial aid — ₹10 lakh for the families of those killed, ₹5 lakh for the permanently disabled, and ₹2 lakh for those seriously injured.

Meanwhile, the United Kingdom has updated its travel advisory for British nationals visiting India following the explosion near the Red Fort Metro Station. The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) urged citizens in Delhi to follow local authorities' guidance. “There has been an explosion at the Red Fort (Lal Qila) Metro Station, New Delhi,” the FCDO advisory stated.

Joint IDP Meeting in Tuibong Urges Equal Relief, Housing Aid & Transparent Governance

Lamka, Nov 11, 2025: A Joint IDP Public Meeting was held today at Peace Ground, Tuibong, bringing together internally displaced persons (IDPs) to voice their collective concerns over disparities, injustice, and administrative negligence affecting their community.

During the meeting, participants demanded equal relief and assistance for all IDPs — both those living in camps and those residing outside — and called for urgent government intervention to end the ongoing hardship. The gathering concluded with a united appeal for justice, equality, and compassion for all displaced persons affected by the crisis.

Alongside the meeting, a Joint Memorandum of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), Churachandpur was presented, summarising their key demands as follows:

Demands of Joint Memorandum of IDPs, Churachandpur (In Nutshell):

  1. Inclusive Policy Implementation:
Equal treatment for all IDPs — camped or non-camped — under one unified relief and rehabilitation protocol across both hill and valley districts.

  2. Immediate Release of Pending Assistance:
Expedite all pending ex-gratia, maternity, medical, educational, and DBT assistance through transparent and accountable systems.

  3. Permanent Housing and Livelihood Restoration:
Approve and implement durable housing assistance of ₹15–20 lakh per family, allowing self-construction for those with land, and introduce livelihood programs for long-term stability.

  4. Fair, Transparent Compensation and Property Protection:
The Government should carry out a fresh and transparent valuation of all IDP properties in Imphal Valley, ensure legal and physical protection against encroachment, and uphold constitutional duties under Articles 14, 21, and 300A to guarantee equality, dignity, and restoration of lawful ownership.

  5. Adoption of a Comprehensive Rehabilitation Model:
Formulate a state-level relief and rehabilitation framework similar to the MHA’s Bru (Reang) IDP Resettlement Model in Tripura, ensuring justice and parity in assistance.

  6. Administrative Continuity and Accountability:
Address disruptions caused by frequent transfers of key officers by creating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and appointing an Officer on Special Duty (OSD) for IDP affairs to ensure uninterrupted verification, disbursement, and monitoring.

  7. Comprehensive IDPs Database and Administrative Protocol:
Prepare and maintain a verified, publicly accessible database of all IDPs, including both camped and non-camped, for effective policy planning and delivery.

The meeting concluded with a reaffirmed call for fairness, transparency, and inclusive rehabilitation for all displaced persons in Manipur.

CCPur IDPs DEMAND Inclusive Policy, Housing & Compensation Support

DEMANDS OF JOINT MEMORANDUM OF INTERNALLY DISPLACED PERSONS (IDPS) CHURACHANDPUR (IN NUTSHELL).

Inclusive Policy Implementation: Ensure that all IDPs whether camped or non-camped are treated equally without any administrative discrimination under a unified relief and rehabilitation protocol applicable across both hill and valley districts,

2. Immediate Release of Pending Assistance: Expedite the disbursement of all pending ex-gratia, maternity, medical, educational, and any other assistance, as well as delayed DBT payments, through transparent and accountable channels.

3. Permanent Housing and Livelihood Restoration: Approve and implement durable housing assistance of ₹15-220 lakh per family, allowing those with land to construct homes independently, and introduce livelihood support to enable long-term stability.

4. Fair, Transparent Compensation and Property Protection: That, the Hon'ble Government undertake a fresh and transparent valuation and compensation process for all properties of displaced persons from the Imphal Valley, ensure their legal and physical protection against continued encroachment and demolition, and uphold its constitutional duty under Articles 14, 21, and 300A to guarantee equality, dignity, and the restoration of lawful ownership to all affected families.

5. Adoption of a Comprehensive Rehabilitation Model: Formulate a state-level relief and rehabilitation framework aligned with the MHA's Bru (Reang) IDP resettlement model in Tripura, ensuring parity and justice in the scope of assistance provided.

6. Administrative Continuity and Accountability: It has been observed that frequent transfers of key officers, particularly the Deputy Commissioner and Sub-Deputy Commissioners of Churachandpur District, have disrupted the continuity of IDP management. It is therefore recommended that standard operating procedures (SOPs) and a Officer on Special Duty (OSD) be established for IDP affairs, ensuring seamless verification, disbursement, and monitoring even in the event of transfer or deputation of officers.

7. Comprehensive IDPs Database and Administrative Protocol: Government should prepare and maintain a verified and publicly accessible database of all IDPs encompassing both camped and non-camped IDPs.

MIC Appeals for Peace and Unity Among Senapati & Kangpokpi

AN APPEAL FOR MUTUAL COEXISTENCE TO THE SENAPATI AND KANGPOKPI
BRETHREN IN CHRIST

The 10th November, 2025

We, the Mizo Integration Council (MIC), extend a heartfelt and sincere appeal to our brethren in Senapati and Kangpokpi districts to cherish the virtues of peace, harmony, and Christian brotherhood, as taught to us in the Holy Bible by our Lord Jesus Christ.

The Mizos trace their origins to the 16th century, when our ancestors migrated from China into the northeastern regions of India, particularly the Lushai Hills, now known as Mizoram. Our forebears were resilient and independent people, bound by a shared language, culture, and tradition. The name “Mizo” represents a family of tribes and clans, including the Kuki, Chin, Zomi, and others who share a common heritage and collective identity in Myanmar, Bangladesh and India.

As tribals and Christians, we Mizos and Nagas share a sacred bond and shared values that transcend division. Our faith in Christ and our rich tribal heritage must remain the pillars on which we build understanding, reconciliation, and cooperation.

The Mizo National Front (MNF), established in 1961, played a historic role in the struggle that ultimately led to Mizoram’s statehood in 1987. Its enduring vision of a unified Mizo to inspire us toward collaboration and integration across borders.

It is our earnest desire to see Christian love and brotherhood flourish in Senapati and Kangpokpi districts, nurturing an atmosphere of mutual respect, trust, and peaceful coexistence. We envision a future where Mizos and Nagas live side by side in harmony, celebrating our diversity and working together for shared prosperity. A future where our communities thrive without fear, mistrust, or division. A future where our children grow up with dignity, hope, and faith, grounded in the shared tribal identity and spiritual foundation of Christ’s love.

The Mizo Integration Council reaffirms its commitment to this noble cause and invites all stakeholders—community leaders, church elders, youth, and civil society, to join in this collective effort. Let us come together with open hearts and willing hands to build a future marked by peace, understanding, and unity. May the love of Christ and the spirit of brotherhood guide us toward a brighter and more harmonious tomorrow for our communities.

Media & Publicity,
Mizo Integration Council (MIC).

Protect Kuki Inn Estate: A symbol of courage and heritage

📍Kuki Independence War Memorial Committee appeals to Manipur governor for protection and preservation of Kuki Inn Estate in Imphal*

Kuki Independence War Memorial Committee has appealed to the governor of Manipur  Ajay Kumar Bhalla for the protection and preservation of the historic Kuki Inn Estate at Babupara in Imphal stating that Kuki Inn Estate is a historic landmark that embodies the courage, sacrifice, and enduring spirit of the Kuki people

Kuki Independence War Memorial Committee appealed to the governor to provide full protection and security to the entire Kuki Inn complex and its adjoining estate, initiate restoration and preservation efforts for the damaged sections and recognize the Kuki Inn Estate as a protected cultural and heritage landmark of Manipur.

In its letter, the committee stated that the Kuki Inn and its adjoining memorial complex were established to honor the supreme sacrifices of the Kukis who valiantly resisted the British colonial forces during the Kuki Rising (1917–1919) - a defining struggle for freedom and dignity.

The committee added that the heroic uprising, which lasted nearly three years, saw, over 120 Kuki warriors killed, 126 villages burnt, and Rs. 1,67,441 extracted from the Kukis as reparation through forced penal labour the com

"In recognition of this historic episode, the Government of India, sanctioned funds for the construction a memorial complex on 0.3522 hectares of land at Babupara, Imphal and within this estate stands the Kuki Inn, a three-storied museum and community complex, along with two important monuments - one commemorating the Kuki Heroes of the 1917-1919 Uprising, and another honoring the Kuki Freedom Fighters who served under the Indian National Army (INA)", the letter stated.

In the wake of the ethnic conflict, the entire Kuki community was forced to flee from Imphal, in May 2023— leaving behind not only their homes but also their heritage and today, not a single kuki soul remains to watch over the Kuki Inn Estate, a site that holds within its walls the priceless legacy of our ancestors, the committee added.

" With deep sorrow, we note that during the early days of the violence, one of the buildings within the complex was reportedly set ablaze. What once stood as a proud symbol of our collective memory now lies vulnerable - exposed to neglect, encroachment, and the silent erosion of a history that deserves to be preserved", the letter added.

Further the committee went on to state that the Kuki Inn is not merely a physical structure; it is a living symbol of identity, unity, and remembrance - a testament to the shared sacrifices that bind Kuki community to the broader history of Manipur and India.

🇮🇳 Our Demand for UT — Present Status (Fact Check) 🇮🇳 ~ Pakhum

🧾 Fact: MHA said creating a new UT is not feasible under current policy but needs broad consultations.

➡️ Meaning: Policy may not allow it now, but the Constitution (Article 3) allows it.

Policy can change — the Constitution cannot.

🏛️ Past Examples – First Rejected, Later Approved:

Telangana – "Not feasible" → State (2014)

Jharkhand – "Too small" → State (2000)

Delhi – "Security issue" → UT with Legislature (1991)

Ladakh – "Sensitive area" → UT (2019)

Puducherry – "Too small" → UT with Legislature (1962)

👉 Our UT Demand: "Not feasible" + "Broad consultations" → Under consideration

⚖️ Legal Point:
Article 3 empowers Parliament to create or alter States/UTs.

No amendment needed.

"Not feasible" = Policy stance, not legal rejection.

✅ Conclusion:
Centre has not rejected our UT demand.

"Broad consultations" means the door is open.

Every new State/UT in India began with "not feasible."

📘 Our demand for UT is constitutional, possible, and still open.

A Tragic Loss in Palkhuang Village This November

In the quiet village of Palkhuang, about 160 kilometres from Lamka town, November is always a busy month. The cold winds of winter have started to blow, and everyone—men and women alike—works hard to finish their harvests before Christmas arrives. The fields are full of life, laughter, and the sound of people working together.

But this year, a deep sadness has fallen upon the village. On the 8th of November 2025, a woman named Pamzaniang, the beloved wife of S. Thangzalian, suddenly passed away while joyfully harvesting in her field. She suffered a stroke caused by high blood pressure, and though her neighbours rushed to help, she could not be saved.

What was once a day of joy and fulfilment turned into one of sorrow and tears. The village mourns her deeply—a hardworking woman, kind-hearted and cheerful, gone too soon.

We lift our prayers for her soul and for the bereaved family. May God grant them comfort and strength in this time of grief.

Even in the midst of winter’s cold, the warmth of love and community in Palkhuang reminds us that life, though fragile, is shared—and that every moment together truly matters.

Rest in Peace 😭😰🙏
